Chong Pang Nasi Lemak: Popular late night supper stall at Yishun

It was 2 in the morning and I was feeling really hungry after a long day at work. My colleague invited me to Chong Pang for Nasi Lemak. I was told that it was a very popular late night supper destination for many.

Since I have always been a big fan of Nasi Lemak, I don’t mind trying Chong Pang Nasi Lemak. Usually, I enjoy Nasi Lemak during breakfast times. However, I have not actually tried one for supper as most stalls would have been closed. Furthermore, it was near to my location in Yishun. Guess it would be a good time to try it now.

THE EXPERIENCE

It was about 2:30am when I arrived. The coffees shop wasn’t crowded with only 2 tables occupied. Being first on the queue, I have time to decide what varieties I want for my Nasi Lemak. Fair enough, they do have quite a selection. Fish Cake, Fish Fillet, Luncheon Meat, deep-fried crispy Chicken Wing, Fried Kuning Fish, Otah, among others. You will also get to enjoy a good variety of vegetables.

THE OUTCOME

The 2 things I am always in search of in Nasi Lemak will be its sambal chilli and coconut rice. Honestly, is normal for me. The lack of taste and fragrance on the coconut rice wasn’t a good start for me and with the sambal chilli on it, I taste more sambal chilli than rice with the chilli towards the sweeter taste, which was not my usual liking. My personal preference will be for the sambal chilli to be spicier. I respect that everyone’s taste is different but for me, my overall experience has been average.

The only plus point for me is that, is one of the alternatives for a late-night supper place.
