Uraetei Yakiniku Pho Dinh: Best Japanese BBQ

Vietnam is known not only for their hotpot, but also their barbeque (BBQ). They have BBQ restaurants from Thailand, Korea, Vietnam among others, serves different ways and types of BBQ you can probably enjoy, and my personal favourite is Japanese BBQ.

The one which I regular at will be Pho Dinh located at 69 Nam Ky. It is just a road opposite Saigon Centre which is just next to Takashimaya Saigon.

THE EXPERIENCE

It was about 2pm when I arrived with a friend for lunch. It is usually full house so be sure that you make your reservation if not, that waiting list is going to make your wait at least 30 minutes before your turn on the table.

It was about 15 minutes wait that day and we were well greeted by the waitress in Japanese, ushering us to our table? Since this is a Japanese restaurant, you will expect a clean and well-decorated Japanese impression with the whole setup made of wood. The one thing I like about this place is privacy so you will see yourself, facing other customers when you are having your food or private conversations. Either high walls or curtains serve as dividers for you.

The menu serves an extensive of options for your BBQ or Hotpot. They have all kinds of meats such as pork, beef, and chicken while seafood such as fish slice, squid, prawns among the rest. They too have assorted mushrooms and vegetables.

My primary choice will be their pork belly and short plate beef in tender slices marinated well with miso sauce. Then I will go for a basket of vegetables to give a lettuce wrap, making the meal complete.

Oh yes. 1 more thing. Before the main, I will like to go for an appetizer and that’s their seaweed with egg soup.

THE OUTCOME

Till date, I still can’t find another better Japanese BBQ Restaurant.
