KPO Café Bar: The Best Ambiance for dining In Orchard

Ever since my favourite burger place closed due to the pandemic, I have been searching for a replacement. I thought that maybe KPO will be a good option. Honestly, in my opinion, KPO is one of the restaurants with the best ambiance for dining in Orchard Road. l say that they did a good job in the cosy settings of a bar-restaurant.

THE EXPERIENCE

The last time I was here, was last year on my birthday. I had steak back then and it wasn’t that bad. Hence, I decided to make my 2nd trip to KPO to try their burger.

Upon reaching KPO on a Wednesday evening, at about 6pm, I was attended by a staff dressed in black. I wasn’t sure if he was a bouncer, waiter, or velvet, but surely, he was nasty-looking. Hahaha. I was told that the indoor seats have been fully booked, and was offered the outdoor seats instead. Since I was not given much of a choice, I decided to go for the outdoor.

I took a bar table seat and waited for about 10 minutes before someone noticed me. Then came a waiter, asking if anyone attended to me. I said not. He got me to scan the barcode for the menu but it wasn’t working for me after a couple of attempts. Then he passed me the menu instead. I heard that their Hokkien Mee was good but since I was there for the burger, I went on for the order with my usual beef done in medium-rare.

Guess what happened next? The moment the male waiter left my table, after taking my orders, within 2 minutes, a female waiter came to me with the bill. I was looking at her with a shocked-looking face. I wanted to tell her that I haven’t even warmed my seat, not to mention that my orders haven’t arrived yet, then now, I faced the bill (I thought I was at Aston’s). Oh well… I gave her my credit card and continue to wait on for my meal.

THE OUTCOME

It took them 30 minutes to serve my medium rare Beef Burger. Was the place really that busy because from the look at it, most of them were drinkers than diners?

Anyway, the presentation is fine with the Beef Burger served alongside Potato Chips. The Beef Patty was at acceptable standard but honestly, I preferred the potato chips more. Hahaha! Perhaps, the next time round, I will try their Hokkien Mee instead. I heard it was pretty good.

Well, will KPO be my favorite burger joint? Maybe but I felt probably more suited for drinkers.
