Sushi Hokkaido Sachi: Most popular Japanese restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

One of my favourite Japanese restaurants to visit in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, got to be Sushi Hokkaido Sachi.  It is also the most popular Japanese restaurant among the locals.  Ask any girls and easily they will point to Sushi Hokkaido Sachi.  With 9 outlets spread across the city, I can understand why is so difficult to miss them out.  Anyway, did I just mention girls?  Hmm…  Hahaha.

The usual outlet I frequent will be the one located at Vincom Shopping Mall, which is very close to the hotel I stay.  From the popular Ben Thanh Market, by foot will take you under 20 minutes and by taxi probably under 8 minutes, provided there is no bad traffic.

Down to basement 3, where you can find plenty of restaurants, serving different cuisines.  More prominently, you will notice Sushi Hokkaido Sachi once you are down the escalator.

Especially during peak timings, ensure to make your reservation before heading down because usually, it will be a full house.

Greeted in Japanese at the entrance by two beautiful hostesses dressed in Kimonos, and I was led to my table reservation.  Very simple Japanese-themed decoration with wooden furnitures.  I like the restaurant been spacious and comfortable, but it can get a little noisy when the restaurants get busy.

You will be spoilt with choices by their extensive menu.  Sushi, Sashimi, Salad, Tempura, Tsukidashi, Wagyu, Nabe, Gohan & Noodle and so much more.  However, since I am alone, let’s not over order… Hahaha.

My hunt for Ebi Roll and Beef Udon (Tokachi Gyu Niku Udon) continues.  I also went for their Wagyu Teppanyaki, Ikura Chawan Mushi, and Zuwai Kani Miso Yaki.

What can I say… fresh, tasty and well-presented?  The Ebi Roll was made to perfection.  Beef Udon broth was so tasty that I drank it all, while enjoying every bite of the tender slice of beef.  Wagyu Teppanyaki was well-seasoned, and delicious.  The Ikura Chawan Mushi tasted norm for me, but the highlight got to be the Zuwai Kani Miso Yaki.  It was really ‘milky cheesy’ delicious.

Quality in the balance of pricing was unquestionably well balanced!  However, when comes to table services, the staffs can get fuzzled when too busy, bringing wrong orders to my table twice, but is ok.  I am not too particular over such matters, as long as I get my orders at the end of it.

I always enjoyed my time at Sushi Hokkaido Sachi, whether I am dining alone, with a mate, a love or friends, making it a must visit for me whenever I am at Ho Chi Minh City.
